Program? - Preferred Affiliate Program
We
would like to

Your site will be listed on our new Preferred Affiliate page with links especially
for our preferred partners, and you can choose the text and graphics you'd
like us to display. You also get to display our new Preferred Affiliate award

This program is a great complement to your coded affiliate links, because
while affiliate links allow tracking, they don't help much in the search engine
optimization game. As a Preferred Affiliate, you will benefit from our direct
reciprocal links and enjoy a higher ranking in the search engines.
You may have noticed that your affiliate links are all to "qksrv" -- this
is the CJ tracking system and CJ gets a lot of search engine benefit from
it. Our new program will help us both lift each other in the search engines!

3. In what ways has OneGreatFamily
made itself well-known?

With the Christmas holiday approaching, we are all thinking about spreading
good cheer to others. Can you think of a better way to spread good cheer than
sharing your genealogy work with others throughout the world?
OneGreatFamily currently offers resources and tools to make this possible.
It is important when working with others from different countries to use the
same character set. Our users now have the option to submit data in any language
that uses a Latin-based set of characters. We are also in the process of making
our site more accessible to people who speak languages other than English.
These are just two more ways that OneGreatFamily is capturing a worldwide
audience of genealogists.
Genealogy is a popular hobby around the globe regardless of culture or geography.
Registered members in 174 countries research their genealogy using OneGreatFamily!
Working with others from different countries will further your genealogy work
and provide you access to hard-to-reach records and local information. People
who live in countries with large immigrant populations (like the United States)
will likely have to use resources or access information still located in their
ancestral homelands. To obtain these resources yourself would cost you money
and also a great deal of time. This is one reason OneGreatFamily is so wonderful--the
service can save you time and money by getting people from those 174 countries
involved in your research. Imagine finding a distant cousin in your native
homeland!
Using the 5 "W's" in Good Site
Design
The home page content
needs to be "catchy". You've got approximately 5 seconds to draw
visitor's attention to the content of the site. When I enter the site, there
has to be an incentive for me to stay.
So, a good home page answers all of the "W" questions:
- who (is the site for),
- what (do you offer),
- where (your geographic area),
- when (if it is time-related, ie. an event, or hours opened),
- and why (why choose your services), providing the visitor with useful
information about your organization, product, service or event.
If you look at your home page and it does not make you want to stay on the
site, you need to rewrite and redesign it. Ask 3 people who are not familiar
with your website (like your Mom) and ask them to tell you if they can answer
the 5 "W's". Based on their answers, you'll know where you have
to start editing. Get more clear and you'll get more visitors and more sales!
